Primus and Puscifer drummer Tim Alexander is reportedly scheduled to undergo open-heart surgery this week.

A post on Puscifer's Facebook page says the 49-year-old suffered a heart attack, and is expected to go under the knife Monday or Tuesday.  The post also asks fans for "global positive thoughts."

Alexander's on-again, off-again career with Primus dates back to the band's 1990 debut Frizzle Fry. He's left and rejoined the group a number of times, starting his latest stint last year.

In addition to Puscifer, Alexander has also worked with A Perfect Circle and the Blue Man Group in Las Vegas.
